A New Journey

As you all know, this life can be a bit crazy! The ups and downs can truly make you wonder how things work sometimes. Not only wonder about regular life, but also about starting or maintaining life while being a parent. I am starting this blog to share experiences, goals, and knowledge that not only I have but that others from the community around me have shared or will share. I plan to have multiple authors so many different views can be shared from both men and women.

I am becoming a first-time mother this fall, and the journey to get here has been truly an experience. When experienced mothers say it takes a lot to make a baby, they are truly meaning mind, body, and spirit. There are so many things happening in my world right now, I feel like my mind is racing to keep up with it all.

I am 18 weeks pregnant, and this is what I am maintaining: my energy, diet, to-do list for baby, to-do list for our home, work, hobbies, family time, and friend time. Talk about all the different categories taking space in my mind and then finding time for them all. I am so grateful to have such a supportive and loving partner who helps me navigate and breathe when I feel overwhelmed.

Balance is one of the things I work on daily, and realizing what is a necessity and what can wait can be extremely hard. For example, we have already completed our baby room, about 98% of it. Most parents will tell you, the baby doesn't even use it for the first 6-12 months, depending on lifestyle. However, having a clean space for early development activities, napping, diaper changes, and a place to store all their items is a blessing. One common theme experienced mothers will tell you is that the pregnancy goes much faster than you believe. Even though it may not feel like it at times.

One of the main reasons I try to think ahead is not only for my baby, for my partner. He has increased his workload in our homelife, and as I get further along, I want him not to be overloaded with the complete demolition and redo of the baby that was necessary for our home. Some people have extra rooms that are easily converted, while others are limited on space. So preplanning organization for your situation truly will help decrease the number of stressors for you and your partner or family. That is one example of course! You don't want to be so far in the future that you miss the joys of the now. Thus, finding your balance can be tricky but worth the search. :)

Excited to share more and connect with all of you!
